Greeko's AM Intelligence orders 9,000 Nvidia Vera Rubin GPUs for Hyderabad AI factory

The order comprising 9,000 Vera Rubin NVL72 rack-scale systems is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2027 and will power the first 30 megawatts phase of AMI's upcoming AI factory in Hyderabad. The company said the deployment will make the site one of the first frontier AI compute clusters in Asia. The Hyderabad project is the first tranche of AMI's planned 1 gigawatt compute-as-a-Service platform spanning India, the United States, Finland and Malaysia. The company plans to bring an initial 200 megawatts of AI compute capacity online in the near term. According to the company, the Hyderabad AI factory will integrate Nvidia's Vera Rubin architecture to support trillion-parameter AI models and is designed to reduce AI inference token costs by up to 10 times compared with the previous Nvidia Grace Blackwell generation. Beyond Hyderabad, AMI said it is developing 5 gigawatts of AI data centres across India, the United States and Europe, alongside 1 gigawatt of compute-as-a-Service capacity. The facilities are being designed with liquid cooling to support high-density AI workloads and future generations of AI chips. The AI venture marks Greenko founders Anil Chalamalasetty and Mahesh Kolli's expansion beyond renewable energy into AI infrastructure, leveraging the group's expertise in building large-scale power assets. Greenko is one of India's largest clean energy companies with around 11 GW of installed renewable capacity across solar, wind, hydro and energy storage. Backed by investors including Singapore's sovereign wealth fund GIC and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), Greenko has emerged as a key player in India's energy transition by combining renewable generation with large-scale energy storage.

NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 introduces NVFP4, a new low-precision computing format designed to run AI workloads more efficiently, alongside next-generation High Bandwidth Memory (HBM4). The architecture is designed to reduce AI inference token-serving costs by up to 10 times compared with the preceding NVIDIA Grace Blackwell generation. AMI's Hyderabad AI Factory is being engineered to deliver approximately 450 exaFLOPS of NVFP4 inference compute, providing massive computing capacity for running advanced AI models at scale.
