Breaking: Galaxy S26 series gets seventh One UI 9 beta release with new AI features

Currently live in Germany, India, Poland, the UK, and South Korea, the new update will soon be available in the US as well. Earlier this week, Samsung released One UI 9 Beta 6 for the Galaxy S26 series. Samsung usually goes a few weeks between beta releases, and while we hoped for a stable update to finally roll out, there were indications that Samsung was working on yet another beta update. Turns out it was, as Samsung has begun rolling out One UI 9 Beta 7 for the Galaxy S26 series. We've received the seventh One UI 9 update on our Galaxy S26 Ultra in the UK. This Android 17-based update comes with firmware version ending in ZZHK, the August 5, 2026 security patch, and is 1,234MB in size. This update is currently live in South Korea, India, the UK, Poland, and Germany, with the notable exception of the US. We expect users in the US who have signed up for the beta program to receive this update very soon as well. We'll keep you updated if we find any new features or bigger changes in this update. We're surprised to see One UI 9 betas extend up to seven betas for the Galaxy S26, especially since the Galaxy S26 FE was launched yesterday with stable One UI 9. It's great that Samsung is taking its time to polish the update, but we sympathize with S26 flagship users who may be getting impatient seeing the stable update available on a cheaper (but newer) phone. Hopefully, Samsung isn't gatekeeping its software update in a bid to sell more phones.

Borrowing from Samsung's incredibly popular phone gives the Galaxy S26 series a big boost. A bump in features The new features are all AI-powered. My FanCam gives users a way to focus on their favorites in a shot. It uses AI to track, center, and zoom in on one person in a group shot or a wider shot. During phone conversations, Call Brief surfaces things relevant to the discussion like calendar events, emails, and reminders. And custom Now Brief cards are updates and recommendations created from daily routines, interests, and custom text prompts. Some bonuses The update has more to offer the Galaxy S26 series. There's also a new home screen search bar that can be removed if it's not wanted. And Samsung Browser and Gallery have some AI upgrades. And some bug fixes too For those who just want a fix for the rebooting issue, this update should resolve it. It also improves the Do Not Disturb mode. One UI 9 Beta is still limited Aside from the recently released Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8, only the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 +, and Galaxy S26 Ultra are getting the One UI 9 beta as of now. Those who are enrolled in the Galaxy S26 series One UI 9 beta program will receive a notification to download the update starting today, Aug. 28. It should eventually reach devices in the Galaxy S series back to the S23 and the Galaxy Z series back to the Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5.
