A 32GB baseline would have matched the machine's ambitions to its specifications. The operating system and background processes already consume a significant portion of 16GB, leaving less room for the on-device AI workloads the NPU is designed to accelerate. Samsung has not explained why the US configuration is limited to 16GB when 32GB variants exist elsewhere. The company's product page lists the memory as LPDDR5x soldered to the board, meaning there is no upgrade path. Buyers who want 32GB will need to wait for Samsung to offer it in the US or import from another market. Google recently killed ChromeOS and launched Googlebook, an Android-based AI laptop with Gemini embedded at the operating system level. Apple's MacBook Neo brought its entry price below $600 with an A18 Pro chip.
