Spotify in Claude is available for free, Pro, and Max Claude users. Spotify is available on a variety of platforms, including mobile, desktop, smart TVs, game consoles, and more. Now you'll find the streaming service available in one more place. Spotify is bringing its music and podcast recommendations directly to Claude. In a blog post, Spotify announced new integration with Anthropic's chatbot. Starting today, you'll be able to connect your account to Claude for personalized recommendations based on your taste and listening history. By submitting a prompt (e.g., make a playlist of high-energy tracks for my run), the AI will create a playlist that you can preview, save, or open in the Spotify app. Along with playlist recommendations, this integration also supports Spotify Connect. That means you'll be able to see where Spotify is playing and switch or control your music without having to leave your conversation with the chatbot. If you decide to connect your account to Claude, you'll also be able to disconnect it at any time. The company adds that it doesn't share any music, podcasts, or other audio or video content with Anthropic. Free and Premium Spotify members can take advantage of this integration, regardless of their Claude subscription. However, Premium Spotify members will have the added benefit of tailoring their recommendations by vibe or mood.

Spotify features within Claude are available to both Spotify free and premium accounts, but there's a bonus feature for the paid subscription users. Spotify Premium users can even ask Claude the "vibe or mood" you're in, and it will whip up a playlist for you to match it. Given that Claude will use recommendations based on Spotify's own algorithm, there's a decent chance that the playlist would have songs that fit the mood you've described. Spotify's algorithm tends to pick up quite quickly on the ever-evolving music tastes of each user. You can also follow the results back to the Spotify app, and it's a neat little addition for those who extensively use Claude. It's especially useful to create a playlist, as I'd personally love nothing more than just list out the songs I want in my playlist, rather than having to manually add them on my own in the Spotify app. There are a lot of different ways to make use of this Claude and Spotify integration. Beyond music, the integration also offers support for podcasts, so you can tell Claude what sort of podcast you want to listen to, and the AI will find something for you. As per the announcement, Claude will also be supporting Spotify Connect. This means that you can see in the conversation with Claude which device Spotify is playing on, and you can switch and control Spotify playback from the chat thread. Here's how it works. The new Spotify feature is available through Claude for desktop as well as the mobile app on iPhone and Android. It lets Claude users connect a Spotify account, then use Spotify to power music and podcast picks from the chatbot app. Starting today, Spotify users can connect their account to Claude for personalized recommendations based on their taste and listening history. The recommendations come from Spotify's personalization technology and deep catalog expertise. Spotify integration with Claude also extends to audio playback. This includes the ability to preview audio, save songs and podcasts to your Spotify library, and play media directly in Claude. While both free and paid Spotify users can enjoy access in Claude, Spotify extends one additional feature to Premium subscribers: describing a vibe or mood to generate a playlist.
