AI Facial Recognition Predicts Cancer Survival and Biological Age from Single Photograph

Researchers at Mass General Brigham built an AI tool called FAHR-Face, trained on more than 40 million facial images, that estimates biological age and predicts cancer survival from a single photograph, what researchers call the first demonstration of an algorithm doing so from a simple photo. In a test of 3,820 cancer patients, 64 of the 122 with the highest risk scores died within 90 days. The tool still needs diverse training data before clinical use.
