LG Gram 2025 Laptops With Cloud-Based and On-Device AI Features Unveiled
LG Gram Pro features Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 for graphic design, gaming LG unveiled its updated Gram laptops on Tuesday ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025. The company says its 2025 LG Gram laptops come with on-device and cloud-based artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities powered by up to Intel Core Ultra H-Series (Arrow Lake) processors. The lineup includes four models -- LG Gram Pro, Gram Pro 2-in-1, Gram, and Gram Book. As per LG, its new LG Gram Pro 2-in-1 has been bestowed with the CES 2025 Innovation Award for its design and functionality. According to LG, the 2025 LG Gram laptops are powered by the Intel Core Ultra H-Series (Arrow Lake) and the Intel Core Ultra V-Series (Lunar Lake) processors. While the former promises maximum traditional PC performance, the latter is said to be optimised for AI-driven PC experiences. The Lunar Lake models are certified by Microsoft Copilot+ and have features such as real-time video subtitle translation and AI image generation. LG says its latest laptop lineup employs both cloud-based and on-device AI. It offers Gram chat Cloud which is powered by GPT-4o and is free of charge for the first year. As per the company, it leverages web-based datasets for detailed responses to user inquiries and integrates with personal calendar and email services. Meanwhile, the on-device AI uses a small language model (SLM) which has been derived from LG AI Research's EXAONE large language model. It comes with a new Time Travel feature which allows users to quickly revisit web pages, documents, videos and audio files. All 2025 LG Gram laptops come equipped with support for Gram Link 2.0 which facilitates device connectivity across operating systems. LG just unveiled four new Gram 'hybrid AI' laptops ahead of CES 2025 -- what you need to know
LG's lightweight Gram laptops are pretty marvelous, packing in fantastic performance and battery life while weighing very little by laptop standards. Four more of these laptops are on the way for CES 2025, with four more Gram laptops coming in 2025 -- including LG's first ever Copilot Plus PC, and the brand new proprietary Gram AI. The four laptops in question are the LG Gram Pro (16-inch), a larger LG gram Pro (17-inch), the LG Gram Pro 2-in-1 and the LG Gram Book. The 16-inch Gram Pro is the flagship model here, offering an Intel Lunar Lake Core Ultra V-series processor, which enables CoPilot Plus functionality. Meanwhile the 17-inch and 2-in-1 models use an intel Arrow Lake Core Ultra-H series processor. Not quite as impressive, but this should still prove beneficial for AI. Sadly, the LG Gram Book 2025 will come with an older Core i5 processor which, along with a bunch of other disappointing specs, makes it a lot less appealing. Least of all is the fact it weighs 3.74 pounds, which is over a pound heavier than the 16-inch Gram Pro. That's also slightly heavier than the 15.3-inch MacBook Air M3, which weighs 3.5 pounds. The MacBook is thinner too, measuring just 0.45 inches compared to the LG Gram Book 2025's 0.74 inches. The lightest of these new Gram laptops comes out a little better, weighing the same 2.73 pounds as the 13-inch MacBook Air M3 with an extra 3-inches of screen space. But it's also slightly thicker, measuring 0.49-inches compared to Apple's 0.44-inches. It'll all come down to how these machines perform, and how much they end up costing compared to Apple's machines. We don't know how much LG's new machines are set to cost, so we can't compare with Apple on price. But I'd hope that the Gram Book is significantly cheaper than its Pro counterparts. As incredible as it sounds to have powerful chips and high-specced displays, that kind of technology doesn't come cheap. The LG Gram Pro 2-in-1 2024 models had starting prices of $1,399 and $1,799, depending on whether you got LCD or OLED screens. Copilot Plus isn't the only AI coming to the 2025 LG gram, and these laptops will include what LG calls Gram AI. Apparently this is a "hybrid AI", which relies on cloud-based and on-device AI processing. Gram chat on-device uses a local AI algorithm based on LG's EXAONE LLM to operate without an internet connection, while gram chat Cloud is powered by GPT-4o. The idea here is to offer a "smarter, more secure and highly-personalized user experience" that evolves and adapts based on the users' needs. All 4 models will include LG Gram Link 2.0 as well, which allows more streamlined file-sharing between other PCs, iOS and Android. That includes the option to answer calls on your laptop, if you really want to. No doubt we'll be hearing more about these machines at CES 2025, so stay tuned to Tom's Guide and our coverage of the show so we can bring you more about LG Gram 2025 when we hear it.

LG Gram Pro 2-in-1 (2025) hands-on: Of course a thin and light laptop gets AI at CES 2025
It's been ten years since LG introduced its Gram line of ultra thin and light laptops, and despite my early skepticism about its longevity and build quality, the company continues to make new models regularly. It's expanded the portfolio to offer pro variants, clamshells and 2-in-1s, and in keeping with every laptop maker in recent years, LG is now infusing the Gram Pros with more of its own... you guessed it... AI. We already learned about this year's LG Gram Pro lineup when they company unveiled the details last week. From the announcement, we found out that four new models are available. Here at CES 2025, I was able to check out the LG Gram Pro 2-in-1 in person to see what I was able to learn beyond the press release. The short answer is: not much. In the six days or so since LG shared the 2025 Gram lineup with the world, the company has yet to disclose pricing and availability. That's pretty common for many CES launches, so I wouldn't chalk that up as a warning sign. Besides the fact that it has new Intel Arrow Lake processors and displays with variable refresh rates that go up to 144Hz, though that's reserved for the LCD panel option. For models with OLED, you can only go up to 120Hz. There's also improved treatment to deal with glare, which was surprisingly effective at mitigating the overhead fluorescent lights on the show floor. I could still see the floating glowing orbs reflected on the display, but for the most part I was able to view the YouTube video playing on the demo unit just fine. As is becoming tradition for me at CES by now, I tried to bicep curl the Gram Pro 2-in-1 and frankly, the laptop remains unsatisfying for serious gym rats looking for heavy weights. Those wanting a truly portable system that fits into the thinnest of pockets without dragging on your shoulders will appreciate the Gram Pro. But, its 16-inch screen means it's fairly hefty and won't fit into many purses. I also appreciate the sturdy hinges LG has used in the Gram lineup. The Gram Pro 2-in-1's case hasn't been tweaked since last year's model, and I was mildly concerned when the lid started to flex a bit when a rep at the LG booth was flipping it over. But the device remained intact, and frankly all Gram laptops have always exhibited some level of flex because of how thin they are. The other main update to the Gram Pro 2-in-1 is the addition of LG's Gram AI suite of services. These include "Gram chat," which is available in on-device and cloud-based versions. The former uses LG's own EXAONE large language model, while the latter taps OpenAI's GPT-4o. Gram Chat Cloud can also integrate with your calendar and inboxes to help manage your schedules and "send and receive emails more efficiently," according to LG. There are also features like Time Travel, which is LG's take on Microsoft's Recall, helping users find what they're looking for by feeding parameters like date viewed or inline text to the AI system. When I asked an LG rep how the service would avoid the security concerns that Microsoft's Recall was criticized over, they said that people would have to grant permission before continuing to use their laptops. Like I mentioned, LG has yet to share details on price or when these Grams will be available, but with last year's Gram Pro 2-in-1 going for about $1,300 on Amazon right now, I'd imagine this year's models won't be too far off.

LG's new Gram Pro laptops compete with MacBook Air with thinner-than-ever designs
LG's 2025 Gram Pro laptops feature the company's first-ever Copilot+ PC, armed with the 'Lunar Lake' Intel Core Ultra processor. LG just announced that it's expanding its lineup of Gram laptops in 2025, which includes launching the company's first-ever Copilot+ PC and its first devices powered by Gram AI, its proprietary hybrid AI that utilizes both on-device and cloud-based AI models. Expected to be unveiled at CES 2025, the Gram, Gram Pro, Gram Pro 2-in-1, and Gram Book are just as slim and lightweight as last year's models. We tested them, and can confirm that they're some of the thinnest, lightest laptops we've ever seen. What's new is that they now come equipped with LG's on-device "Gram Chat" AI to process and analyze data locally, even when not connected to Wi-Fi. Also: I tested the lightest 16-inch convertible laptop of the year, but that's not even its best feature Gram Chat's hybrid approach utilizes LG's EXAONE large language model when offline, but when connected to Wi-Fi, it employs cloud-based AI powered by GPT-4o. LG Research released its EXAONE 3.0 LLM earlier this year after a three-year development period. So, what does this mean for laptop users? AI all day, every day, whether or not you have Wi-Fi. LG says Gram Chat integrates with calendar and email apps, enabling the AI to help manage a user's schedule as well as send and receive emails and messages. It also leverages the "Time Travel" feature, which can revisit web pages, documents, videos and audio files (which sounds a little bit like a certain controversial Windows feature). In terms of hardware, the new Gram lineup is fully committed to running Intel processors, featuring both the "Arrow Lake" Intel Core Ultra H-Series and the "Lunar Lake" Intel Core Ultra V-Series, which is particularly optimized for AI tasks. In fact, the 0.49-inch thick LG Gram Pro with the Lunar Lake chip is the first from the series to be designated as a Copilot+ PC, and was first announced back in September at IFA in Berlin. Also: Dell's latest XPS 13 hits the sweet spot of performance and value for me. Here's why The Lunar Lake processors have shown themselves to be high-performing chips on the other devices we tested this year, offering marathon batteries and supercharging AI performance with an NPU capable of up to 48 TOPS (trillion operations per second). The 2025 Gram Pro laptop lineup continues LG's trend of offering 2TB storage options (except for the Gram Book, the smaller, more accessible model) and lots of onboard RAM. Surprisingly, though, only the 16-inch 2-in-1 Gram Pro has an OLED display option. Here's a breakdown of the major specs on the new Gram Pro laptops: Regarding pricing, LG has not dropped any numbers yet. But based on the current pricing of 2024's Gram Pro models, I would estimate the first three laptops will be well above the $1,500 mark, hovering around $2,000 and up. The LG Gram Book, however, should be lower, with its comparatively modest suite of hardware. Also: The next big HDMI leap is coming next week - what the 2.2 standard means for you The other thing I'll be looking out for is heat efficiency with the new processors, as the ultrathin form factor resulted in devices that ran slightly hotter than I would have liked. Stay tuned for full-length reviews once we can get our hands on these ultra-thin and light machines.

LG's AI-heavy update to its Gram laptops sets the stage for what to expect at CES 2025
On Monday, LG announced a trio of new gaming monitors that will debut at CES 2025, but it's not done with the early announcements as on Tuesday, it unveiled the 2025 LG Gram lineup. I've reviewed a few LG Gram models for Laptop Mag in recent years, and while LG isn't the most prolific laptop manufacturer, its hit rate is outstanding. The LG Gram Pro 2-in-1 (2024) was among my favorites and earned a spot on several of our buying guides, including the best 2-in-1 laptops. LG consistently delivers thin-and-light laptops with solid performance and displays, and this year's lineup looks to continue that trend while also introducing one brand new model for 2025, the LG Gram Book. LG is using a blend of Intel Core Ultra H-Series (Arrow Lake) and Intel Core Ultra V-Series (Lunar Lake) chips to power these laptops. As LG points out, the former leans into more traditional productivity performance, while the latter is more optimized for AI with slightly scaled-back productivity performance. We'll be able to spend some time with these laptops at CES 2025, which runs from January 7-10, 2025, but here's what we know about LG's 2025 Gram laptops so far. Let's lead things off with the one truly new model for this year, the LG Gram Book. While the company has delivered a number of excellent laptops in recent years, they decidedly fall into premium laptop pricing, the LG Gram Book is the company's attempt to bring a more affordable option to the U.S. market. It features a 15.6-inch FHD (1,920 x 1080) LCD 60Hz display with a claimed 300 nits of brightness. At 3.74 pounds and 14.2 x 9.36 x 0.76 inches, it is also by far the thickest and heaviest member of the Gram series. You have an Intel Core i5 CPU paired with Intel Xe graphics, and either 8 or 16GB of DDR4 RAM with a 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB NVMe SSD. The port selection is reasonable with a pair of USB 3.2 Gen 2, one USB 3.2 Gen 1, a single USB 2.0, and finally an HDMI 2.1 port. For audio you have a pair of 1.5W speakers, and you get an HD (720p) webcam with a privacy shutter for your video meeting needs. The 51Wh battery is a bit disappointing to see, given the size of this laptop, so we'll have to see how that fares in testing. The massive piece of the puzzle that we're missing here is the price of the LG Gram Book. Given the specs it needs to start well below $1,000 to be competitive in the market, but we'll have to wait and see. One of my favorite 2-in-1 laptops from last year gets a few upgrades for 2025, but doesn't reinvent the wheel. For its 16-inch display you either have the option of a WQXGA+ (2,880 x 1,800) OLED or a WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600) LCD panel. The former delivers a variable refresh rate of 48-120Hz, while the latter goes from 31-144Hz. Both feature a claimed 400 nits of brightness. I lavished considerable praise on the OLED panel in last year's Gram Pro 2-in-1, calling it "one of the best displays I've ever seen on a laptop..." so I'd certainly lean that way and hope LG just managed to maintain that high level of quality. The LG Gram Pro 16 2-in-1 weighs a mere 3.08 pounds and measures 14.1 x 10 x 0.51 inches. It's remarkably thin-and-light for a 2-in-1 with a 16-inch display. Inside, you get either an Intel Arrow Lake Core Ultra 5 or 7, Intel Arc Graphics, up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM with a 512GB, 1TB, or 2TB of Gen4 NVMe SSD. Ports include: two USB 4 Gen 3 Type C, two USB 3.2 Gen 2, and HDMI 2.1. The audio looks impressive on paper, as shown by a pair of 3W stereo speakers and a pair of 5W Smart AMPs. We'll have to see how that holds up in person, as last year's similar setup sounded good but not great due in part to the bottom-firing design. The 77Wh battery is impressive given the size and weight of this laptop, once we get it in our lab we'll see what that yields with the new Arrow Lake CPU. Finally, the Gram Pro 2-in-1 features an FHD (1080p) webcam with an IR camera for Windows Hello support and a dual mic array. If you liked what you saw in the Gram Pro 2-in-1 but don't care about the flexible form factor, look no further than the LG Gram Pro (17-inch). Unfortunately, it does drop the OLED display option of the Pro 2-in-1, but otherwise, it matches its specs almost exactly. I'll spare you running down the full list again and just note a couple of critical differences. The first is naturally the size with its 17-inch display. It weighs in at 3.26 pounds (0.18 pounds heavier than the 16-inch 2-in-1), and it measures 14.9 x 10.4 x 0.62 inches. That extra thickness may be partly due to its RTX 4050 GPU with 6GB of GDDR6 RAM. It also allows the Gram Pro (17-inch) to pack in a larger 90Wh battery; again, we'll see what that yields once we can get it in for testing. Those are the only differences separating these models, again we don't have pricing yet, which may sway your decision as well. I saved the littlest Gram Pro for last, but the 16-inch Gram isn't to be forgotten. It shares several features with its other Pro siblings, so I'll highlight the differences. The biggest shift is the Lunar Lake CPU options, making the LG Gram Pro (16-inch) the first Copilot+ PC in the Gram family. While LG's new Gram AI will work across the entire lineup, the Gram Pro (16-inch) should have the advantage given its more powerful NPU. The base model features an Intel Core Ultra 5, but you can upgrade to an Ultra 7 or 9. All configurations come with Intel Arc graphics. With the exception of dropping to 16 inches, the Gram Pro models feature identical displays with WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600) LCDs with a variable refresh rate from 31-144Hz. Your big reward for the move to a 16-inch panel is a massive drop in size and weight. It is a mere 2.73 pounds and 14.1 x 9.9 x 0.5 inches, while still offering a 77Wh battery. Again, we'll find out what that yields in real-world battery life once we get it in our lab. While the specs tell part of the story of a new laptop, there's no replacement for spending some time with them in person or for getting them into our labs for testing. We're also missing some crucial information as we don't yet know when the laptops will ship or how much they will cost. Assuming LG sticks to similar pricing, expect the Pro lineup to range from around $1,399 to $2,499. The Gram Book is the wildcard, but competition is stiff in the affordable market, so we'd hope to see $799 or less for the starting price there. LG is also heavily touting Gram AI as part of this launch, which includes Gram chat on-device if you want the power of AI without reaching out to a cloud service. However, you can also leverage GPT-4o with Gram chat cloud, which is free for the first year. LG's "Time Travel" feature sounds a bit like its take on Microsoft Recall, with the company indicating that it allows you "to quickly and easily revisit web pages, documents, videos, and audio files." Gram chat cloud is also "integrated with personal calendar and email services" and "leverages vast web-based datasets for detailed and comprehensive responses to user inquiries." AI is sure to be a central focus once again at CES 2025. While we've spent the last month running down the 24 biggest AI moments of 2024, and there are clearly some intriguing use cases for AI, it's hard to point to a definitive breakthrough feature for the average user. As this second generation of AI-focused laptops, like the new LG Gram models, hits this year, that will be as much of the story as the new hardware.

LG's new Gram laptops include Arrow Lake, new AI features
LG's playing cagey with prices and ship dates of the new Gram laptops, however. LG has rolled out its Gram laptop lineup in advance of CES 2025, confirming Intel's debut of the Arrow Lake platform in laptops and offering a mix of AI software that can run either locally or in the cloud. LG disclosed two versions of the LG Gram Pro (the 17Z90TR and 16Z90TS), as well as the LG gram Pro 2-in-1. LG is adding a new entry to its lineup as well: the Gram Book, an entry-level lightweight PC with a 1080p display and a cheaper price tag to boot. However, LG isn't saying what that price tag will be, or when these new devices will ship. LG's two new Gram Pros offer the choice of either integrated or discrete graphics. In a press release, LG said that the 17Z90TR will offer an Nvidia RTX 4050 alongside Intel's Arrow Lake mobile processor. After launching on the desktop with mixed reviews, Arrow Lake should debut in laptops from LG and others at CES 2025. Since Arrow Lake (like Lunar Lake before it) emphasized lower power, it may find a more welcoming home within laptops as the latest Core Ultra chip. So far, however, LG hasn't announced plans for Nvidia's Blackwell chip, the GeForce 5000 GPU that is expected to debut in desktops and perhaps notebooks as well. Not all of LG's laptops include Arrow Lake, however, though the company's skimpy specification don't indicate which ones. The remainder will use Intel's older "Lunar Lake" chips instead, with their more powerful AI TOPS specification. (None of the new laptops use processors from AMD or Qualcomm.) Lunar Lake's AI horsepower will enable two versions of what LG calls "LG Gram AI," specifically "LG Gram chat." LG Gram chat On-Device runs locally on the PC without a network connection to preserve the privacy of the user, using a small language model that LG developed as an offshoot of its own EXAONE LLM. (LG didn't release details of the LG gram chat's parameters.) "Notable features include Time Travel, allowing users to quickly and easily revisit web pages, documents, videos and audio files," LG said. LG chat Cloud does require an Internet connection. LG's cloud model is built upon GPT-4o, one of the latest GPT models, but will require an undisclosed subscription payment to use. (The first year is free.) The service will provide "detailed and comprehensive responses" to a user's questions, with the advantage that they will connect with the user's calendar and email services, too. It sounds like you'll have to give LG permission to integrate your Outlook or Gmail email, however. Otherwise, LG's new Grams don't appear to offer too much differentiation from other notebooks at CES. In fact, they're a bit on the heavy side, with only the simpler Pro model weighing less than 2.73 pounds. The cheap new Book offering, though with a 15.6-inch 1080p LCD display, weighs a rather chunky 3.74 pounds with only a 51Wh battery. Fortunately, the other gram models include premium displays, up to 2560×1600 on both Gram Pro models, with an 1800p OLED option offered on the Pro 2-in-1. Memory and storage options are offered up to 32GB on the three Pro offerings, with up to 2TB of storage. All of the laptops support an upgraded version of "Gram Link," which sounds like a branded version of Intel's Unison app for sharing content across Android phones and laptops. A list of the specifications for the new LG Gram laptops is below. (Note that LG's branding calls these laptops "grams," with a lowercase "G.")

The Next LG Gram Laptops Will Come In Four Models
Why I Installed Linux on an Old Laptop Instead of a Raspberry Pi LG Electronics has announced its lineup of LG Gram laptops for 2025: the Gram Pro, Gram Pro 2-in-1, Gram, and Gram Book. We'll get more details at CES 2025. These new laptops are a big step up from the 2024 models with Intel's latest processors, the Intel Core Ultra H-Series (Arrow Lake) and the Intel Core Ultra V-Series (Lunar Lake). This upgrade to ultra processors was announced months ago, in September. The H-Series is designed for strong overall performance, while the V-Series focuses on tasks that involve artificial intelligence. ✕ Remove Ads The laptops powered by Arrow Lake will be much better than the 2024 versions thanks to the upgrades in computing and graphics. The Lunar Lake models will also come with Microsoft's Copilot+ features, which includes real-time video subtitle translation, local AI image generation, and eventually Windows Recall. The LG Gram Pro (17Z90TR) is designed to be both powerful and easy to carry. It has an Arrow Lake CPU and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 graphics card, making it great for graphic design, 3D rendering, video editing, and gaming tasks. The other model, the 16Z90TS, has a thinner 0.49-inch thin build and only weighs 2.73 pounds. The 16Z90TR also has a 16-inch screen and weighs 2.64 pounds. ✕ Remove Ads The LG gram Pro 2-in-1 (model 16T90TP) has a large 16-inch OLED screen with a high resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 pixels. The screen can refresh between 48 to 120 times per second and has a brightness of 400 nits. This laptop is still fairly light at 3.08 pounds, and its dimensions are 357.3 x 253.8 x 12.4 to 12.9 mm. It has a 77Wh battery. The LG Gram Book (15U50T) is a budget-friendly laptop that has a 15.6-inch Full HD screen, expandable storage, a 720p HD webcam with a privacy shutter. The models will be shown off in more detail at CES 2025 in January, and will likely be available from third-party retailers and LG's online store after that. Source: LG

LG debuts new Gram laptop series with onboard small language model
LG debuts new Gram laptop series with onboard small language model LG Electronics Inc. today previewed a series of lightweight laptops that will ship with an onboard small language model. The company plans to reveal the Gram series, as it's called, at the CES consumer electronics conference next week. The flagship device in the new laptop line is the 16-inch Gram Pro 16Z90TS. It can be ordered with chips from Intel Corp.'s Ultra V-Series processor family, better known as Lunar Lake. Chips in the series are geared towards power-efficient laptops with onboard artificial intelligence software. Each Lunar Lake processors comprises three chiplets: a central processing unit, a neural processing unit for running AI models and a graphics processing unit. The latter module likewise includes circuits optimized for machine learning. According to Intel, the NPU and GPU can together manage up to 115 TOPs, or trillion operations per second, when running AI applications. The Gram Pro 16Z90TS is the first LG laptop to support Microsoft Corp.'s Copilot+ standard. Introduced in May, it provides laptops that meet certain hardware requirements with access to additional AI features in Windows. There are also a number of cybersecurity enhancements. The Lunar Lake chip in the Gram Pro 16Z90TS chip is supported by up to 32 gigabytes of LPDDR5X memory, a type of RAM optimized for power-efficient laptops. Customers can also configure the device with two terabytes of flash storage. The Gram Pro 17Z90TR, the second new laptop that LG debuted today, provides the same memory and flash options. But it swaps the 16-inch display that ships with the Gram Pro 16Z90TS for a larger 17-screen. Additionally, LG is offering a different set of processor options. Instead of Lunar Lake, Gram Pro 17Z90TR ships with processors from Intel's Arrow Lake processor series. The chip series trades off some power-efficiency for higher performance. Additionally, customers can order the laptop with a standalone GeForce RTX4050 graphics card from Nvidia Corp., which is faster than Intel processors' built-in GPU. LG's new laptop lineup is rounded out by the Gram 16T90TP, a two-in-one laptop that can be used as a tablet, and the entry-level Gram Book. The former device offers similar specifications as the 17-inch 17Z90TR. The Gram Book, in turn, combines a 15.6-inch display with an Intel Core i5 processor, 16 gigabyte of RAM and up to a terabyte of flash storage. LG will ship the laptops with an AI feature called Time Travel. It's designed to help users more quickly find web pages, documents and multimedia files they viewed in the past. LG says that the feature doesn't require an internet connection to work. Under the hood, Time Travel is powered by an onboard small large model based on the company's EXAONE series of algorithms. The latest iteration of the algorithm lineup, EXAONE 3.5, was open-sourced a few weeks ago by LG's research unit. It includes four language models with up to 32 billion parameters. All four can process prompts with up to 32,000 tokens, units of data that each contain a few letters or numbers. LG says that the smallest EXAONE 3.5 model, which includes 2.4 billion parameters, can outperform several similarly-sized algorithms. That includes Llama 3.2 2B and Google LLC's Gemma 2 2B. Moreover, it has demonstrated higher output quality than Phi-3-small, a language model from Microsoft Corp. that has nearly three times as many parameters. LG plans to offer Time Travel alongside a second AI-powered feature called Gram Chat Cloud. It uses OpenAI's GPT-4o large language model to help users browse the web.

LG's lightweight Gram laptops get new Intel chips and offline AI features
You can now try Microsoft's Recall AI feature on a Copilot Plus PC Gram Chat On-Device, which uses a "small language model derived from LG AI Research's EXAONE large language model," powers offline features, including Time Travel, which lets users quickly revisit "web pages, documents, videos and audio files" they've recently accessed. LG's software is adding tools similar to Microsoft's Copilot Plus suite and Apple Intelligence, but given the trouble Microsoft has had with Recall, we'll have to wait and see how it all measures up.
