EU AI Act Enforcement Powers Now Active: OpenAI, Anthropic Face Fines Up to 3% of Global Revenue
The European Commission activated enforcement powers for the EU AI Act on August 2, ending the grace period for general-purpose AI models. Regulators can now demand model evaluations, restrict market access, and fine providers up to €15 million or 3% of global turnover.
